A high volume, low pressure (HVLP) spray gun such as the Sames Kremlin FPro require a healthy amount of air flow in order to properly function. A larger capacity air compressor is needed in order both atomize the product you are using the spray gun on and meet the required air flow to apply consistent pressure to your air gun. There are some basic requirements of the compressor for your HVLP spray gun that will need to be met:
- at least a 2.5 to 3 HP from the compressor
- at least a 20 gallon tank
- a regulator on the compressor to control the air flow for the spray gun
A compressor that meets these basic requirements for an HVLP spray gun allow you to adjust your compressor air pressure and fluid viscosity accordingly, depending on what you are spraying and what material is being applied.
A compressor that meets these basic requirements to properly use your HVLP spray gun will effectively deliver your material to the surface you are spraying on.
